While at work on Friday last week I was changing diapers close to the end of the day. I had just finished one child and put on fresh gloves when one of my other kids opened the gate in between my class and the other two year old class. I told her to close the gate because she needed to stay in my class. As she was doing it she didn't give herself enough room and bonked her head on the shelf next to the gate. She started crying and I hurried over to her and held her in my lap and tried to help her feel better. She was so upset she was gulping air and coughing which in turn made her puke. I had nothing in reach to give her to puke into and I had a room full of kids. I yelled as loud as I could for two other teachers I work very closely with but they couldn't her. Thankfully the assistant director was on the stairs and came to my aid. She got me a trash can for the child, some wet and dry washcloths, and gave the other kids to other teachers so I could get myself, the poor little girl, and the floor cleaned up. Thank heaven for the Spot Bot.
The puke got all over my shorts, on my left arm and leg, and on the little girls hands, legs, and shoes. I am so glad I already had gloves on! I cleaned her up and changed her clothes and she took it easy while I cleaned the mess. It was the first time I every used a Bodily Fluid Kit.
Saturday night my body was sore but thought nothing of it until Sunday when I was bed ridden with the flu. Josh and Savannah waited on me whenever I needed anything. Monday morning I woke up a little nauseated but feeling okay while Josh was down for the count! I felt like I could handle it so I went to work. Big mistake because by the end of the day I was miserable and that night I relapsed. I was actually worse than on Sunday. I passed that nasty little bug around the family and feel just horrible about it. Savannah hasn't been vomiting but has had some nasty diapers, lost her appetite, and hasn't been acting like herself. I am so glad for Pioneer Day because I don't have to call in to get the rest of the week off. Bless those pioneers! I am feeling much better!

Poor girl! That's never fun. I'm glad Savannah doesn't have it. I'm a big advocate of staying home if you're sick. We have this mentality that hard-core people just suck it up and go to work. But all they're really accomplishing is keeping the virus going by exposing coworkers (and in your case--the little kids) to it. So it's definitely a good thing work is closed! Don't go back til you're all better. (And that better be by the 1st!!)
In my history as a short bus driver I have had the opportunity to use 2 Bodily Fluid Clean-up Kits. What fun they are!
all i can say is sorry. Puke is definetly the grossest of bodily fluids. I can hardly handle my own kids, let alone someone elses.
