Bragging rights!

I know I only took two classes last semester but I checked my grades. The final verdict for my classes are...

FRENCH: A

Geography: A-
What can I say...I am just too cool for school. You know I have only gotten A's and B's in my college education. This little missy doesn't settle for anything less. YEA!

For the love of heater

The night before last we woke up at 11:30 freaking out because the phone was ringing and somewhere in the apartment came a horrific screeching sound was resinating through the walls and doors. My first thought was HOLY CRAP! Did the power go out? Is my clock right? Please tell me it is 11:30 and not really 5:30. The phone call was the girl that covered my paper route over Christmas telling me she shoved all the extra supplies in my mailbox. The clock was right, I still had hours of sleep ahead of me. The horrific sound happened to be coming from our heater.
To keep our sanity Josh turned the heater off and I woke up just before 5 to an ice box. We called out landlord who came later that morning. He checked it and said the problem was our filter. We hadn't replaced it yet, I totally forget about little things like that. When I got home for lunch our apartment was again comfortably warm. Around 7:30 that night Josh looked at the thermostat confused. The heat was on at 70 but the reading was between 60 and 65. It was strange but I thought nothing of it, our apartment just hadn't warmed up to 70 yet. We woke up this morning to an even colder ice box! Our landlord came right out and sure enough the motor had expressed its last ounce of life from that horrific sound! What a sad way to die. What a horribly cold two days for us, it took almost the whole day today for our landlord to track down the parts and fix it. I came home for lunch to eat it still wearing my puffy pink jacket to stay warm. The heater is now fixed so we are sitting pretty in our cozy home again. Hooray!

Bless St. Nick

I have shed a lot of tears this last week because of some unexpected car issues that ended up wiping out our Christmas budget. Josh and I agreed that we would do things like give each other massages for Christmas and stuff like that. I was blessed with some small cash tips from some of the customers on my paper routes so we were able to get Vannah a little something for Christmas but not anything like I had imagined from our Christmas budget.

I came home from work on my break today to find a pile of gift sitting in front of my door. Santa made an early visit to our home. I am so grateful! As a youth I participated in giving Christmas to others less fortunate that I and never imagined it would be me. You don't really understand the blessing until it happens to you. Thank you! Thank you Santa from the bottom of my heart! I don't know if Santa reads my blog but if he does my words cannot describe the overwhelming gratitude that pours out of my heart. Thank you! I hope to return the favor someday.

It's all she ever really wanted!

Savannah is just starting to really get into Christmas. She loves the twinkling lights and talking about Santa, Jesus, and presents. I have asked her about a dozen times what she wants Santa to bring her for Christmas. She says...

GUM every single time. Then she will follow with candy and only after parental prompting she will say toys. If we gave her gum it would be the cheapest Christmas ever! Unfortunately she won't be getting any gum. She is too little. She only LOVES it because her little friend, Katelynn, from school bring it and has smuggled her some.
