Must Love Dogs

Savannah loves dogs so much that she every time she sees one we have to stop so she can say "hi puppy" and wave at it.  From time to time she even gets up the courage to get really close and touch one.  She has such a love to dogs that Josh told me he would love to get a dog just for her to love but that isn't practical.  When we go to the mall she loves to sit in those moving machines (heck if I know what they are actually called) and do this...

She is aweing at the dog while in-hug.

Savannah's personal rule is that every dog, real or fake, needs the same respect, attention, and love.  I am just thrilled that she doesn't like cats like she loves dogs; that would really make my life miserable.

Obsnailed

Savannah is obsessed with snails hence the title obsnailed.  She practically hunts for them every morning on our little patio.  When she finds one she will call for Josh and I to come and see it too.  Here is one such obsnailed morning...

Some of these poor snails now know what it is like to ride on Drop Zone, those poor fools.

That foamy orange drink

Believe it or not so much has happened that has not been blogged about.  I blame it on the fact that I am now a working mom with significantly less time than I previously had to spend on myself by blogging.  Not to mention the seemingly endless days to sickness after sickness due to the new gene pool both Savannah and I are now saturated in.

On the very rare evenings when Josh is called off his night job we celebrate with something special.  Lately the celebrations are focused around an orange julius.  Savannah absolutely loves them.  See for yourself:

The sip...

and the pure love of the drink!

Savannah was really being quite the funny one.  She would take a sip and then force herself to laugh and she did this over and over and over.  Josh and I were about to wet ourselves it was so funny!  I wish I got it on video.  That sure is a face of a happy toddler!

Much much better

While at work on Friday last week I was changing diapers close to the end of the day.  I had just finished one child and put on fresh gloves when one of my other kids opened the gate in between my class and the other two year old class.  I told her to close the gate because she needed to stay in my class.  As she was doing it she didn't give herself enough room and bonked her head on the shelf next to the gate.  She started crying and I hurried over to her and held her in my lap and tried to help her feel better.  She was so upset she was gulping air and coughing which in turn made her puke.  I had nothing in reach to give her to puke into and I had a room full of kids.  I yelled as loud as I could for two other teachers I work very closely with but they couldn't her.  Thankfully the assistant director was on the stairs and came to my aid.  She got me a trash can for the child, some wet and dry washcloths, and gave the other kids to other teachers so I could get myself, the poor little girl, and the floor cleaned up.  Thank heaven for the Spot Bot.
The puke got all over my shorts, on my left arm and leg, and on the little girls hands, legs, and shoes.  I am so glad I already had gloves on!  I cleaned her up and changed her clothes and she took it easy while I cleaned the mess.  It was the first time I every used a Bodily Fluid Kit.

Saturday night my body was sore but thought nothing of it until Sunday when I was bed ridden with the flu.  Josh and Savannah waited on me whenever I needed anything.  Monday morning I woke up a little nauseated but feeling okay while Josh was down for the count!  I felt like I could handle it so I went to work.  Big mistake because by the end of the day I was miserable and that night I relapsed.  I was actually worse than on Sunday.  I passed that nasty little bug around the family and feel just horrible about it.  Savannah hasn't been vomiting but has had some nasty diapers, lost her appetite, and hasn't been acting like herself.  I am so glad for Pioneer Day because I don't have to call in to get the rest of the week off.  Bless those pioneers!  I am feeling much better!

Butter Heaven

Savannah likes butter in small doses like on her toast. This evening Josh was holding her while I was doing dishes.  Savannah grabbed the butter knife which a huge glob of butter on it and in her mouth it went.  She was disgusted which brings me joy because I can't stand butter like that. It grosses me out! My sister ate butter like it was candy when she was little and I found it gross back then too.  Lets all try to ration our butter in the future, no globs please!

Changing the care of pits

So, in my attempt to take better care of my body I have gotten rid of my antiperspirant deodorant chalk full of aluminum that is just dying to cause me cancer.  My pits have gone organic but for how long??!?!!?!  Ok, not organic as in no pit protection at all, I am saying just plain deodorant.

I started with just one application in the morning.  When I would come home I would be so smelly.  At least my pits aren't as wet from perspiration as with my antiperspirant version of deodorant.  So, I upped it to applying twice: once in the morning after showering and once at my break.  I still come home smelly.  On the up side, I am dry.  If I can smell myself then I smell to others and I hate being smelly.  Oh Lord, why do I have to stink so badly?

I don't know which I would prefer, smelling a little or having dry pits.  It is so hard to decide!

Burning up

During my break at work (thank heaven I didn't go home) it was discovered that Savannah has a fever!  A whopping 100.4 degrees.  So, for the rest of the afternoon we will strip down to our skivvies, push liquids, and rest.  Depending on how she feels a little later she may get some cherry Tylenol; which is her absolute favorite.  It is such a bummer but on the bright side at least we get to be together for the rest of the day instead of at day care.  Get better Vannah!
